Responsibilities

As a Mathematics Teacher at Sophos School Indonesia, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing mathematics lessons for secondary level students. You will be expected to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Teaching mathematics lessons to secondary level students, using a range of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles
• Planning and preparing lesson plans, assessments, and educational materials to ensure that students meet the required learning objectives
• Assessing and evaluating student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students improve their understanding and skills
• Collaborating with other teachers and staff to develop and implement curriculum plans, share best practices, and contribute to the overall development of the school
• Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods, technologies, and curriculum developments
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavior

In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to demonstrate a range of soft skills, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Familiarity with Cambridge International and/or OxfordAQA curriculums, with experience in teaching mathematics to secondary level students
• Excellent spoken and written English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of all students
• Responsible, committed, creative, highly motivated, and able to work in a team environment
• Pleasant and mature personality, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Adequate computer skills, with experience in using Google Workspace for Education
• Indonesian citizen, with a strong understanding of the local culture and education system
